Our Program
Nutrition counseling is conducted in both a one-on-one and group setting. Nutrition counseling illuminates food behaviors, provides people with nutrition information, supports experimentation with new behaviors, and assesses outcomes. Nutrition counseling is a collaborative relationship between the client and the dietitian. This relationship helps to build and hold motivation as well as assist in meeting health goals. I like to think of this relationship as walking a path together, not pushing or pulling.

Appointment and Cancellation Policy
Sessions:
The nutrition counseling sessions include both an initial visit and subsequent follow-up visits. Determining how often or how many sessions one needs is based on individual assessment and client goals. Some people come in just once and others come weekly, monthly or once a year.
Initial:
Initial visits are used to get to know one another. These sessions last 75 minutes. We discuss medical history, eating and lifestyle behaviors, exercise routines, grocery shopping, supplement use and weight history to name a few. At the end of the session, we typically set meal plans and measureable goals that are reassessed on the follow-up visit.
Follow Up:
Follow-ups last 45 minutes. In these sessions goals are evaluated and altered as needed. Nutrition education, as well as, meal planning continue.
Body Composition Test:
Body composition tests are available using BodyGem® metabolic machine and skinfold calipers for body fat and lean body mass calculation.

Insurance is billed by the individual. You will be provided with a superbill at the end of the appointment that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
Cancellations:
Time is set aside in my schedule explicitly for you. Since I cannot fill appointment times on short notice, 24-hour notification is required. If the notification is given in less than 24-hours the scheduled appointment will be billable to you.
Appointments:
The best results have been seen in those who attend weekly visits for the first month and biweekly or monthly thereafter.
